What does it mean to be unfuckwithable?

It’s that feeling you get when the universe, God, or dust fairies (whatever you want to call it ) has your back and no one can mess with you or pretty much fuck with you.

The urban dictionary it’s defined as the pinnacle of whatever you do. In truth, it’s when you’re truly at peace and in touch with yourself, and nothing anyone says or does bothers you, and no negativity or drama can touch you.

Vishen Lakhiani, CEO & Founder of Mindvalley, shared the one key to achieving it and three exercises in his book the Code of the Extraordinary Mind.

So today’s mastery session is about unfuckwithability.

Unfuckwithable, what a word right? Well, in the urban dictionary it’s defined as the pinnacle of whatever you do. In truth, it’s when you’re truly at peace and in touch with yourself, and nothing anyone says or does bothers you, and no negativity or drama can touch you.

And if you think about it a little, this word rolls right off the tongue: unfuckwithable.

It has a nice ring to it and you need it in your life. We all do.

We need this because there are going to be days, weeks, months, years, where everything, absolutely freaking everything feels hard.

Something will always go wrong. Websites will break. Launches will suck. Creativity will stagnate. Humans will disappoint. You’ll disappoint yourself and eventually you will get tired of it all.

And that’s ok because there’s an answer. There’s a solution. It’s being unfuckwithable.

This word is so powerful that Vishen Lakhiani, CEO and founder of Mindvalley, dedicated an entire chapter to it in his new book Code of the Extraordinary Mind. I finished reading this book already, but I loved it so much that I decided to buy the audio version narrated by Vishen himself.

And let me tell you something, it’s not just because he’s a good speaker, I love the way his voice makes me feel when I’m listening. There’s a calmness and deepness within it that makes you instantly feel connected.

In a recent talk about being Unfuckwithable, Vishen tells of his experiences in a bio hacking experiment with Dave Asprey. It’s a program called 40 years of zen. They spent 6 days in a chamber with all this technology hooked up to their brains that measured the brains response to meditation. And they were taught how to reverse engineer their brains to the states of monks who have been meditating for 40 years.

The purpose was for everyone who was attending the experiment to change their brain waves to that of these monks who had found deep inner peace and clarity after working extensively on forgiveness. Basically to increase their alpha waves.

And the secret? The secret was forgiveness.

They had to forgive every single person in their lives who had wronged them. Even if it was in the slightest way imaginable. Once they did this, they increased their alpha waves and practically became unfuckwithable.

Now forgiveness is only one factor that plays into achieving unfuckwithability. Vishen explains a simple 3 exercises to becoming unfuckwithable in his book the Code of the Extraordinary Mind that I’m going to share with you:

1. See the true image of yourself in your reflection

This is a technique Vishen learned from Kamal Ravikant, a silicon valley entrepreneur and investor. The process is simple: Every day look at yourself in the mirror, directly connecting with your eyes. As you focus on your eyes, repeat to yourself aloud or silently “I love you”. You can do this for as long or as short of a time until you begin to feel comfortable.

Yes, this will be very uncomfortable in the beginning. We truly feel highly uncomfortable with looking at ourselves in the mirror, eye to eye. There are scientific reasons and psychological reasons and sociological reason and all sorts of reason that I can dive into in another mastery session.

What I do want you to understand is that you have to make that connection in order for this exercise to truly work. It’s the only way you can truly start to see yourself and think about what you’re seeing.

2. Have self-gratitude, appreciate yourself

What are those things that you love about yourself? What can you begin to appreciate?

And ok, there are some of you that will say things like “There’s nothing I love about myself. There’s nothing to love.”

To those of you who think and act this way, I have one thing to say: get out of your head, stop criticizing yourself, and find deep within you something to love.

There are so many things we can begin to appreciate in ourselves even the most unthinkable like “the ability to breathe”. How many of us go each day without even thinking about what breathing truly does for us?

It helps relieve stress, quiet your mind, increase energy, and reduce pain among other things. If you find that there is truly nothing you can love about yourself, then focus on the little things we tend to ignore like breathing. Love the fact that you can breathe without difficulty. That you have the ability to inhale and exhale when there are people in the world who have extreme difficulty breathing. Some even need to have a machine attached to their bodies to stay alive.

So stop putting that brick wall in your mind that stops you from seeing how wonderful you truly are and how much there is to appreciate.

3. Remove sudden fear and anxiety by becoming present

I’ve spoken about being present in the moment several times in the previous mastery sessions.

It helps to take your focus away from your fears and worries, your past and future….only focusing on the present moment.

Being present is truly the one solution to all the problems that keep you from having a peaceful day. That could be work, the internet, something not working as you expected it to, social media, your children, the dishes, laundry, needless interruptions.

All these problems can be solved by being present. It pulls you out of that negative mental state you find yourself in to the happiness in the now.

Arianna Huffington shared a profound tip with Vishen on how to do this. Focus on the rising and falling of your breathe for about 10 seconds whenever you feel tense, rushed or distracted.

That’s it. Those are the three techniques to becoming unfuckwithable. See the true image of yourself in the mirror to begin loving yourself once again. Appreciate everything and all that you are inside and out, body mind soul spirit. And focus on the now, on the present leaving behind your past, forgetting about what the future holds, and simply living every moment of your life as it happens.

There is no better quote to describe this whole process of letting go than this eloquent message by Neale Donald Walsh:

 “Just when it looks like life is falling apart, it may be falling together for the first time. I have learned to trust the process of life, and not so much the outcome. Destinations have not nearly as much value as journeys. So maybe you should let things fall apart at this juncture if that’s what’s happening. Don’t hang on so tenaciously. The nice thing about things falling apart is that you can pick up only the pieces that you want.”

And as you begin to take on this new chapter in your life, remember what unfuckwithability is bout. It’s knowing what you want, going out there, and making it happen. It’s not apologizing for being unconventional or making mistakes or having to ask one more time or for being yourself. You are you. You simply are.

So make your own opportunities instead of waiting for someone to give you one. Build your own doors then knock them down if you want to. Embrace, love, cherish and embody an attitude of unfuckwithability every single day.
