Hi! I’m Giulia.
Even though we know that new, different and distinct is what gets people’s attention, most of our services and products look like what people expect or what have already been done. We are stuck in a pattern doing what we’ve always done. Bland. Boring. Blah!

- Personality: Your brand characteristics that make your business human.
- Perception: How your business is being perceived by others.
- Perseverance: The power to overcome obstacles and set the bar of expectations.
Now, I want to hear from you.

Building a business you absolutely love can evoke a few stresses here and there. How about when you decide to finally launch that business you’ve been dreaming of, but then everyone who’s everyone seems to be selling and marketing your idea?
Or when you thought you were so unique until you realize that there are about a bazillion others in the same business as you?

Did you have that realization yet? It’s okay. Because it’s totally possible to stand out and be unique even when you feel like everyone around you is doing and saying the same thing.
So how do you stand out from the rest? How do you find that uniqueness so that you shine bright and your customer can’t resist engaging and purchasing from you instead of the other 20 something business around town or thousands if you live in the online world?
When you first start out in business, it always seem like everyone is competing with you. It’s frustrating to find all these businesses in the same industry as you, selling the same or similar products when you could’ve sworn that there weren’t any when you initially did your research.
But not to worry.
There’s a simple formula to getting past this issue that I like to call the 5 P’s that make your business irresistible:
They are purpose, people, personality, perception, perseverance.
The first one, purpose is all about your cause. What do you stand for? What’s your story? Your reason for being? Start with why as Simon Sinek says.
You will be better able to connect with your customers if they can relate to you in any way as a brand—through your story, your cause, your movement.
Your customers want to be part of something bigger and they want to be able to connect at an emotional level. Give them that opportunity and communicate it through your purpose.
And remember that people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.
People is all about your customers and potential customers. Basically, your tribe. Who do you stand for? Who’s your ideal customer? What are their needs and their wants? What makes their day amazing? And what irritates them most?
Then offer that a solution, improvement or additive to make their lives even better. How can you give value to them? What type of incentives do they look for? Do they have questions that need to be answered?
Zig Ziglar once said, “You can have everything in life you want, if you help enough other people get what they want.”
Your potential buyers truly want to connect with you. They don’t want to feel like you’re selling them anything. Instead, they want to see a solution to their problems or wants, and they will naturally purchase because they made the choice. They’re in control.
Feel, think, and act like your customers to better understand them and they will surely notice.
Next is personality. And just like you have a personality as a human being, your brand, your company also have a personality. What is it? Define that personality. Add a little pizzazz if you want.
It’s easier to do this if you think of your business as a person. Is it funny and quirky? Or curious? Is it speedy and helpful? Or luxurious and a bit posh? How does this affect the way your brand interacts with customers?
Personality is truly all about emotions. Like Maya Angelou once said, “People may forget what you said, they may forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
The fourth is perception, which is truly all about appearances. And yes, first impressions do count.
How do your customers perceive your personality? Is it true to what you imagined? Is this also true of your employees?
When they come to your store or website, is it relevant? Does it offer what they’re looking for? Is it easy to find what they need?
Dig into the story behind your company to reveal why clients should care and whether the connection between your brand message and their perception is clear.
The last P is perseverance. Perseverance is about overcoming obstacles. Having a determination to achieve your goals and your dreams. It helps you, or your company, make the most of opportunities.
And by persevering, you set the bar of expectations. You show your customers, your fans, your employees that you can adapt and get out of your comfort zone. You become a leader in your industry. And that makes your brand irresistible.
You also need to realize that succeeding in business is truly all about people, not platforms or location.
Everyone, absolutely everyone, is connected. The internet has made it easier than ever to connect with other’s world-wide.
All these details might take a bit of thinking time and some imagination, but it can help make your business stand out from the crowd.
It’s what’s going to get those customers that experience your brand coming back for more and sharing their amazing time engaging with you with others they feel will also enjoy and appreciate it.
I hope you enjoyed today’s episode. I’ll see you next time.
